The Tenderloin Safe Passage Route is a visually designated route through the Tenderloin, which covers 11 blocks most frequently traveled by youth and families.
The route is marked by a “yellow brick road” sidewalk mural, which promotes safety by identifying the area as a place for children and families.
During after school times, the route will have trained and uniformed volunteers monitoring high-risk corners. In the event of a safety concern, these “Corner Captains” help direct children and families away from danger.
We are currently pursuing funding to expand and make our sidewalk mural permanent. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org, to make a tax-deductible contribution visit our donate page
