Big News!

Safe Passage Map jpeg

Map of our current sidewalk mural. Stay tuned for exciting improvements!!!!

We’re excited to announce Safe Passage was awarded $200,000 through the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) Invest In Neighborhoods (IIN) Grant!  These funds will be used to improve and make permanent our sidewalk mural designating our Safe Passage route.  I got a peek at some of the designs and they’re really exciting!

Big HUGE thanks to Dina, Susie and Kate and everyone who worked on the grant.  Great job guys!

We’re excited to get to work making our sidewalk mural a permanent feature here in the Tenderloin.  However, the heart and soul of Safe Passage is still our Corner Captain Program, which puts trained volunteer safety monitors on high risk corners during the after-school times.

We are still desperately in need of donations to help fund a volunteer coordinator position to help us train and organize our awesome volunteers.  All donations go directly to supporting our program.  This is truly an example of where a little bit can go a long way!
